Who is the Messiah in Judaism?

The Messiah is a religious figure found in two of the world's most popular religions, Christianity and Islam, but the original concept of Messiah comes from the much more ancient religion of Judaism. The Messiah that Jewish sources describe is different from the definitions found in Christianity and Islam. So while one may be familiar with the descriptions of the Messiah found in these religions, it does not necessarily describe the Messiah as it’s found in Jewish sources. Rambam’s (Rabbi Moshe ben Maimon, 1138-1204ce) foundational work of Jewish Law, Mishna Torah, includes a section on the Messiah. Certain points of his description are disputed by other of the great Rabbis, but this section is well-known by many to be a very accurate description of the Messiah according to Hebrew Scripture and Jewish tradition. https://www.sefaria.org/Mishneh_Torah%2C_Kings_and_Wars.11.1?lang=en

We highly recommend the book “The Messiah” by Rabbi Yaakov HaLevi, available in the Emunah Store, for an in-depth understanding of the Messiah from a Jewish perspective. This book may be purchased here https://store.emunah.com/collections/jewish-books .

Can I convert to Judaism?

Thank you for your sincere interest. Conversion to Judaism is technically possible, but depending on the person's location, it can be very difficult or practically impossible. Among other things, conversion in our times requires living near an Orthodox Jewish community. Because of these barriers, and depending on the location or circumstance of the person, it is nearly impossible today for many people. Rav Dror teaches that people seeking a connection with the Creator do not need to convert to Judaism. Jewish life is very intensive and not for every person in the world. One does not need to be or become Jewish to find God. But for those who desire to become Jewish strongly, there is a path to true conversion. Be careful of non-orthodox conversions or conversions done by unrecognized people; these will not be accepted in the wider Jewish community. There is much more information the potential convert will benefit greatly from knowing. "Strangers?", a book by Rabbi Yaakov HaLevi, is a guide about Jewish conversion for the potential convert or anyone interested in the subject. It is available on the Emunah Store here https://store.emunah.com/collections/jewish-books

What is the true and original Bible?

The first and only original Bible is the Hebrew Bible. It contains the original 24 books, from Genesis-Chronicles, in the original ancient Hebrew. All other Bibles in all languages base their translations on this Hebrew version. The Hebrew Bible also contains the real Tawrat and Zabur mentioned in Islam. Christian translators, who are responsible for a vast majority of Bibles in circulation, mistranslated and manipulated many verses of the original Hebrew version in order to give credence to Christian doctrine. The result is a poorly translated and misleading translation of the original text. This is why we recommend purchasing an Orthodox Jewish translation of the Hebrew Bible and Torah. These translations are true to the original text and are also translated according to the ancient Jewish tradition that has been passed through the generations. We offer several versions with different focuses on the Emunah Store and also offer versions in Arabic and Russian. They may be found here https://store.emunah.com/collections/bibles-torahs .

How can I connect with God?

This question is the most precious of them all. The answer is that it is a life mission containing many aspects and parts. It is a learning process, with every person's path unique, and the key is to learn and practice. Rav Dror teaches that the most precious and powerful way to connect to God is through Personal Prayer. Personal prayer is called "Hitbodedut" in Judaism and was taught and revived by Rabbi Nachman of Breslov. It is true that, depending on the person, there are certain religious obligations that a person must fulfill, and doing so can elicit great inspiration and spiritual connection, but on top of the treasures found within the requirements, Personal Prayer opens paths of connection to God that are beyond what's achievable otherwise. Rav Dror offers a comprehensive course on this precious subject, offering a structured guide to learning the tools and secrets to succeed in this holy path. This course is available here https://ravdror.teachable.com/p/hitbodedut-the-practice-of-personal-prayer . Additionally, Rav Dror has a playlist on YouTube that has many hours of his lectures on the subject, found here https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL_h6LEPjSd7sqHd_xLp_NYY087Qr6rph4 .
